Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua),4 and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.” (CCC 1213)
Attendance at a baptismal class is required for parents who desire baptism for their infant. Currently our Parish use Belonging: Baptism in the Family of God for our Parent Classes. Godparents must both be Catholic, fully initiated into the church at least 16 years old, and practicing their faith. The date and time of the baptism will be determined by the Pastor. Baptismal preparation classes can be attended prior to the birth of your child. Please contact our Director of Faith Formation or call the Parish Office.
